Hebrews 12 tells us that Esau sought a chance to undo the mistake of giving away his birthright, but Genesis makes clear that he never repented in a spiritual sense. He continues to long after wickedness, and only weeps that he is not getting his way. Esau's is an ugly picture - one which ought to make us pursue and pray for true repentance.
