- Reasons to Repent

- Both John and Jesus urge men to repent.
- Matthew 3:1-3; 4:12-17
- The coming of the Kingdom of Heaven gives us reason to repent for two reasons. First, because of the justice of God, who will certainly punish the guilty. However, the greater reason is found in the mercy of Christ. Jesus came to save, and therefore there is someone to whom we may turn. We may repent not only in fear, but also in hope.
