- We tend to look on the birth of Christ in terms of what it means to us. Paul, however, encourages us to consider what the birth meant to Jesus Himself. To Him it was a great act of humiliation - appearing in the form of a slave - which He undertook out of humility and obedience. Astonishingly, He counted others better than Himself and looked to their interests rather than His own.
