- Esther responded to her cousin in a manner which indicated that she had learned from him well. Her insistence on prayer and fasting demonstrated her faith. Her willingness to go even though she might die demonstrated her obedience. Finally, the care with which she prepared her plan demonstrated her wisdom. Neither Xerxes nor Haman had any idea what a powerful force they were facing in the dedicated, faithful queen.
